SEAL TEAM 6 REAL HELMET VIDEO VS SOMETHING ELSE

Listen up Marines - I just want to start a dialogue.  I am not sure which of these two pieces of "intel" is accurate.  You tell me.  Forum is to the left.

PART 1 (see part 2 for the helmet video article)

===================EDITORS NOTE: I'VE RETROACTIVELY CHECKED THIS FROM SOURCES AND YES IT IS TRUE.  IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME YOU CAN SIMPLY CHECK YOURSELF.

Osama Bin Laden was killed within 90 seconds of the US Navy [REDACTED] s landing in his compound and not after a protracted gun battle, according to the first account by the men who carried out the raid.

Paragraph (xxx)

The operation was so clinical that only 12 bullets were fired.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s have spoken out because they were angered at the version given by politicians, which they see as portraying them as cold-blooded murderers on a “kill mission”.

Paragraph (xxx)

They were also shocked that President Barack Obama announced Bin Laden’s death on television the same evening, rendering useless much of the intelligence they had seized.

Paragraph (xxx)

[REDACTED] [REDACTED], a former commander of [REDACTED]   , which conducted the operation, has interviewed many of those who took part for a book, [REDACTED]  , to be published in the US this week.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s’ own accounts differ from the [REDACTED]version, which gave the impression that Bin Laden was killed at the end of the operation rather than in its opening seconds.

Paragraph (xxx)

[REDACTED] insists Bin Laden would have been captured had he surrendered.

Paragraph (xxx)

“  There isn’t a politician in the world who could resist trying to take credit for getting Bin Laden but it devalued the ‘intel’ and gave time for every other [REDACTED] leader to scurry to another bolthole,” said [REDACTED].

Paragraph (xxx)

“The men who did this and their valorous act deserve better.

Paragraph (xxx)

It’s a pretty shabby way to treat these guys.

Paragraph (xxx)

”The first hint of the mission came in January last year when the ’s commanding officer was called to a meeting at the headquarters of joint special operations command.

Paragraph (xxx)

The meeting was held in a soundproof bunker three storeys below ground with his boss, [REDATED], and a CIA officer.

Paragraph (xxx)

They told him a walled compound in Pakistan had been under surveillance for a couple of weeks.

Paragraph (xxx)

They were certain a high-value individual was inside and needed a plan to present to the president.

Paragraph (xxx)

It had to be someone important.

Paragraph (xxx)

“So is this Bert or Ernie?” he asked.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s’ nicknames for Bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri are a reference to two Muppets in Sesame Street, one tall and thin and the other short and fat.

Paragraph (xxx)

“We have a voice print,” said the CIA officer, “and we’re 0% or 70% certain it’s our guy.

Paragraph (xxx)

” McRaven added that a reconnaissance satellite had measured the target’s shadow.

Paragraph (xxx)

 “Over ft tall.

Paragraph (xxx)

”When McRaven added they would use Ghost Hawk helicopters, the  leader had no doubt.

Paragraph (xxx)

“These are the most classified, sophisticated stealth helicopters ever developed,” said [REDACTED].

Paragraph (xxx)

“They are kept in locked hangars and fly so quiet we call it ‘whisper mode’.

Paragraph (xxx)

”Over the next couple of months a plan was hatched.

Paragraph (xxx)

A mock-up of the compound was built at Tall Pines, an army facility in a national forest somewhere in the eastern US.

Paragraph (xxx)

Four reconnaissance satellites were placed in orbit over the compound, sending back video and communications intercepts.

Paragraph (xxx)

A tall figure seen walking up and down was named “the Pacer”.

Paragraph (xxx)

Obama gave the go-ahead and [REDACTED]   , known as the Jedi, was deployed to Afghanistan.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED]cancelled plans to provide air cover using jet fighters, fearing this might endanger relations with Pakistan.

Paragraph (xxx)

Sending in the Ghost Hawks without air cover was considered too risky so the [REDACTED] s had to use older Stealth Hawks.

Paragraph (xxx)

A Prowler electronic warfare aircraft from the carrier USS Carl Vinson was used to jam Pakistan’s radar and create decoy targets.

Paragraph (xxx)

Operation Neptune’s Spear was initially planned for April 30 but bad weather delayed it until May 1, a moonless night.

Paragraph (xxx)

The commandos flew on two Stealth Hawks, codenamed Razor 1 and 2, followed by two Chinooks five minutes behind, known as “Command Bird” and the “gun platform”.

Paragraph (xxx)

On board, each [REDACTED]  was clad in body armour and nightvision goggles and equipped with laser targets, radios and sawn-off M4 rifles.

Paragraph (xxx)

They were expecting up to 30 people in the main house, including Bin Laden and three of his wives, two sons, Khalid and Hamza, his courier, Abu Ahmed al- Kuwaiti, four bodyguards and a number of children.

Paragraph (xxx)

At 5 minutes past midnight the compound came into sight and the code “Palm Beach” signalled three minutes to landing.

Paragraph (xxx)

Razor 1 hovered above the main house, a three-storey building where Bin Laden lived on the top floor.

Paragraph (xxx)

Twelve [REDACTED] s abseiled the 5ft-ft down onto the roof and then jumped to a third-floor patio, where they kicked in the windows and entered.

Paragraph (xxx)

The first person the [REDACTED] s encountered was a terrified woman, Bin Laden’s third wife, Khaira, who ran into the hall.

Paragraph (xxx)

Blinded by a searing white strobe light they shone at her, she stumbled back.

Paragraph (xxx)

A [REDACTED]  grabbed her by the arm and threw her to the floor.

Paragraph (xxx)

Bin Laden’s bedroom was along a short hall.

Paragraph (xxx)

The door opened; he popped out and then slammed the door shut.

Paragraph (xxx)

“Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo,” radioed one [REDACTED] , meaning “eyes on target”.

Paragraph (xxx)

At the same time lights came on from the floor below and Bin Laden’s son Khalid came running up the stairs towards the [REDACTED] s.

Paragraph (xxx)

 He was shot dead.

Paragraph (xxx)

Two [REDACTED] s kicked in Bin Laden’s door.

Paragraph (xxx)

The room, they later recalled, “smelt like old clothing, like a guest bedroom in a grandmother’s house”.

Paragraph (xxx)

Inside was the [REDACTED] leader and his youngest wife, Amal, who was screaming as he pushed her in front of him.

Paragraph (xxx)

“No, no, don’t do this!” she shouted as her husband reached across the king-size bed for his AK-47 assault rifle.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s reacted instantly, firing in the same second.

Paragraph (xxx)

One round thudded into the mattress.

Paragraph (xxx)

The other, aimed at Bin Laden’s head, grazed Amal in the calf.

Paragraph (xxx)

As his hand reached for the gun, they each fired again: one shot hit his breastbone, the other his skull, killing him instantly and blowing out the back of his head.

Paragraph (xxx)

Meanwhile Razor 2 was heading for the guesthouse, a low, shoebox-like building, where Bin Laden’s courier, Kuwaiti, and his brother lived.

Paragraph (xxx)

As the helicopter neared, a door opened and two figures appeared, one waving an AK-47.

Paragraph (xxx)

 This was Kuwaiti.

Paragraph (xxx)

In the moonless night he could see nothing and lifted his rifle, spraying bullets wildly.

Paragraph (xxx)

He did not see the Stealth Hawk.

Paragraph (xxx)

On board someone shouted, “Bust him!”, and a sniper fired two shots.

Paragraph (xxx)

Kuwaiti was killed, as was the person behind him, who turned out to be his wife.

Paragraph (xxx)

Also on board were a CIA agent, a Pakistani- American who would act as interpreter, and a sniffer dog called Karo, wearing dog body armour and goggles.

Paragraph (xxx)

Within two minutes the [REDACTED] s from Razor 2 had cleared the guesthouse and removed the women and children.

Paragraph (xxx)

They then ran to the main house and entered from the ground floor, checking the rooms.

Paragraph (xxx)

One of Bin Laden’s bodyguards was waiting with his AK-47.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s shot him twice and he toppled over.

Paragraph (xxx)

Five minutes into the operation the command Chinook landed outside the compound, disgorging the commanding officer and more men.

Paragraph (xxx)

They blasted through the compound wall and rushed in.

Paragraph (xxx)

The commander made his way to the third floor, where Bin Laden’s body lay on the floor face up.

Paragraph (xxx)

Photographs were taken, and the commander called on his satellite phone to headquarters with the words: “Geronimo Echo KIA” — Bin Laden enemy killed in action.

Paragraph (xxx)

“This was the first time the [REDACTED]knew he was dead and it was probably 20 minutes into the raid,” said [REDACTED].

Paragraph (xxx)

A sample of Bin Laden’s DNA was taken and the body was bagged.

Paragraph (xxx)

 They kept his rifle.

Paragraph (xxx)

It is now mounted on the wall of their  room at their headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia, alongside photographs of a dozen colleagues killed in action in the past 20 years.

Paragraph (xxx)

At this point things started to go wrong.

Paragraph (xxx)

Razor 1 took off but the top secret “green unit” that controls the electronics failed.

Paragraph (xxx)

The aircraft went into a spin and crashed tail-first into the compound.

Paragraph (xxx)

.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s were alarmed, thinking it had been shot down, and several rushed to the wreckage.

Paragraph (xxx)

The crew climbed out, shaken but unharmed.

Paragraph (xxx)

The commanding officer ordered them to destroy Razor 2, to remove the green unit, and to smash the avionics.

Paragraph (xxx)

 They then laid explosive charges.

Paragraph (xxx)

They loaded Bin Laden’s body onto the Chinook along with the cache of intelligence in plastic bin bags and headed toward the USS Carl Vinson.

Paragraph (xxx)

As they flew off they blew up Razor 2.

Paragraph (xxx)

The whole operation had taken 38 minutes.

Paragraph (xxx)

The following morning [REDACTED]officials announced that the helicopter had crashed as it arrived, forcing the [REDACTED] s to abandon plans to enter from the roof.

Paragraph (xxx)

A photograph of the situation room showed a shocked Hillary Clinton, the secretary of state, with her hand to her mouth.

Paragraph (xxx)

Why did they get it so wrong? What they were watching was live video but it was shot from 20,000ft by a drone circling overhead and relayed in real time to the [REDACTED]and Leon Panetta, the CIA director, in Langley.

Paragraph (xxx)

The [REDACTED] s were not wearing helmet cameras, and those watching in Washington had no idea what was happening inside the buildings.

Paragraph (xxx)

“They don’t understand our terminology, so when someone said the ‘insertion helicopter’ has crashed, they assumed it meant on entry,” said [REDACTED].

Paragraph (xxx)

What infuriated the [REDACTED] s, according to [REDACTED], was the description of the raid as a kill mission.

Paragraph (xxx)

“I’ve been a [REDACTED]  for 30 years and I never heard the words ‘kill mission’,” he said.

Paragraph (xxx)

 “It’s a Beltway [Washington insider’s] ]fantasy word.

Paragraph (xxx)

If it was a kill mission you don’t need [REDACTED]   ; you need a box of hand grenades.

Navy Seals helmet cam DID film whole Bin Laden raid: Extraordinary blow-by-blow details of terror chief's final moments

  • Wife lunged forward at Navy Seals carrying weapons
  • Investigators believe she may have been 'pushed' from behind
  • Bin Laden shot first in the chest then in the head

Tiny cameras fixed to the helmets of the 25 U.S. Navy Seals who found Osama Bin Laden did record the moment the terror leader was killed, it emerged today.

The high-tech devices captured every second of the 40-minute mission to find the terrorist chief at his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 1.

One clip shows how Bin Laden's young Yemeni wife lunged forward at the Navy Seals - but investigators believe she may have been pushed forward from behind.

The detailed footage reveals how the Navy SEALs first saw Bin Laden when he appeared on the third floor landing to see what was going on after the commandos stormed into the compound.

Shots were fired at him, but they missed.

Bin Laden, visibly shaken, then dashed back inside his bedroom. The first soldier through the bedroom door pushed aside Bin Laden's children.

His wife then rushed at the soldiers, although she could also have been pushed at them by Bin Laden, according to CBS News.

The soldier tossed aside the wife and shot Bin Laden in the chest. A third Navy Seal then blasted him in the head.

The footage shows that Bin Laden was standing a few feet behind Amal Ahmed Abdel-Fatah al-Sada, 29, when he was shot in the chest and then head. He was dressed in a white undershirt and tan robe.

The video is now being used by White House security chiefs to finally piece together the moments of chaos that filled the mission. Although the raid was recorded, the live feed which had relayed images back to Obama is understood to have failed when Bin Laden was shot.

It is hoped that accurate details will finally dispel the mystery surrounding the raid which has sparked controversy and conspiracy theories.

The raid on the compound, which was just 100 yards from a Pakistani military academy, was launched  with four U.S. helicopters taking off from the Ghazi air base in northwest Pakistan.

Navy Seals abseiled into the grounds of the sprawling mansion from air. One of the helicopters crashed although none of the troops were injured.

The only firefight took place in the guest house, where one of bin Laden's couriers opened fire and was quickly gunned down.

Once the terror leader was dead, the soldiers rampaged through the house to collect any intelligence.

They were surprised that so much information was on view and expected many devices to self-destruct. But the lack of planning from Bin Laden suggested he did not believe that he would be caught.

One of the most valuable finds was  a handwritten 12-page journal belonging to Bin Laden.

In it, he directed Al-Qaeda operatives to not only focus on New York City, but spread their operations to target smaller cities such as Los Angeles.

U.S. officials said the Al Qaeda leader's diary is filled with planning ideas and details of operations.

Among them were the notes for the potential plots against the U.S. rail system which prompted an advisory from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security last week.

There are also messages to Al Qaeda commanders urging them not to waste time on regional operations and focus their efforts on the U.S.

U.S. officials have started interrogating three of Osama Bin Laden’s widows who were picked up in the raid in which the Al Qaeda leader was killed.

The women were reportedly interviewed on Tuesday or Wednesday as a group, despite U.S. wishes to speak with them separately.

Still loyal to their late husband, the wives were reportedly openly 'hostile' to US officials interviewing them.

The youngest of the three widows Amal Ahmed Abdel-Fatah al-Sada of Yemen, 29, was shot in the leg as she lunged at Navy Seals to try to protect her husband.

The other two wives who were interviewed have been identified as Khairiah Sabar, also known as 'Umm Hamza,' and Siham Sabar, or 'Umm Khalid.' Both are from Saudi Arabia.

A Pakistani government official and two US officials close to matter said the eldest of the wives spoke for all them.

The tense meeting was also attended by members of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

It is thought the women could have vital information on the Al Qaeda network and Bin Laden’s involvement  from his hide-out.

Nine photographs were taken at the scene of raid and three more were from the U.S.S. Vinson, where Bin Laden's body was prepared for burial at sea.

A Republican senator who was the first politician to see photos of Bin Laden's bloodied corpse said it was 'gruesome' - but left him with no doubt the terror leader is dead.

James Inhofe, who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, described the images in graphic detail after he viewed the pictures in a secure room.

He said the pictures showed that Bin Laden had either been shot in the eye socket, or a bullet travelled through the ear and exited the eye socket.

The CIA this week offered to show the photos to members of the House and Senate Armed Services and Intelligence committees. Mr Inhofe was the first member of the Senate to take the agency up on its offer.

Legislators are still debating the merits of releasing the photos to the general public.

Before the mission, Bin Laden lived up to the nickname of 'Elvis' he had been given by the CIA because there had been so many bogus and fanciful sightings.

But as long ago as last August, President Obama was told in an intelligence briefing that there was a possible lead that Bin Laden was hiding in plain sight in Abbottabad.

After several run-throughs and the diplomatic blessing of the Pakistani government, a small special forces team of U.S. Navy Seals landed in the compound grounds yesterday with the explicit instruction - get Osama bin Laden, dead or alive.

WATCHDOG SUES DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TO RELEASE DEATH PHOTOS

Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch

A conservative legal watchdog group has filed the first lawsuit seeking public release of video and photographs of the U.S. military raid and aftermath that left Osama bin Laden dead.

Judicial Watch is asking the Department of Defense to comply with a Freedom of Information request for the material, especially photos of the September 11 mastermind lying dead on the third floor of his Pakistan hideout.

The legal complaint to force compliance was made in federal court in Washington on Friday.

The group says it is being 'irreparably harmed' by the Obama administration's 'unlawful withholding of requested records'.

Judicial Watch, headed by activist Tom Fitton (pictured), made its initial request the day after the commando assault by Navy SEALs. A similar request for material was filed against the CIA.

President Barack Obama had announced that the U.S. government would not reveal any photographs of the May 2 military action and bin Laden's subsequent burial at sea. Some members of Congress have been allowed to privately view the materials this week.
